Re: Update on Students from Saudi Arabia

The University is working to assist students who are affected by the Saudi Arabian government’s plans to withdraw its citizens from Canadian universities. We realize this is a stressful and uncertain time for those involved and we are reaching out to students who may face the interruption of their studies by circumstances that are beyond their control. U of T has more than 19,000 international students from 168 countries studying on our three campuses. They are a key part of what makes us a global university.

At this time, we are seeking information from numerous sources on the full effect of this decision on our students. Students who are affected by the withdrawal should direct their questions regarding their studies to:

For Undergraduate Students:
Cheryl Gibbs
Assistant Director, Office of the Vice-Provost, Students
cheryl.gibbs@utoronto.ca or 416-946-8522

For Graduate Students:
Brian Desrosiers-Tam
Director, Office of the Vice-Provost, Graduate Research & Education
brian.desrosierstam@utoronto.ca or 416-946-3102

The University also has a number of supports available including counselling services on all three campuses:

UTSG: Health & Wellness Centre
UTM: Health & Counselling Centre
UTSC: Health & Wellness Centre
