Re: University of Toronto Libraries’ Migration to New Library Services Platform

On January 7, 2021, the University of Toronto Libraries will migrate to a new Library Services Platform (LSP). The new system will provide a single integrated search across a variety of resources and allow for a customized user experience, including saving searches, switching between devices, and easier filtering of search results. Three Ex Libris products, Alma, Primo, and Leganto, will handle library collection management, search function, and course reserves respectively. These products will replace more than a dozen products currently in use and will enable the management of electronic and print resources on one platform. The new platform was selected through a two-year RFP process involving tri-campus library staff.

The Libraries will take the opportunity of the new system to harmonize core borrowing policies across the library system, and to automate many processes that are currently done manually. These changes are intended to provide a more consistent, integrated, and improved user experience.

Additional information on this change can be found on this webpage. Please contact your faculty liaison librarian or email libraryhelp@utoronto.ca if you have questions.
