Tentative Agreement with the University of Toronto Faculty Association (PDAD&C #90)

We are very pleased to advise you that the University has reached a tentative agreement with the University of Toronto Faculty Association (UTFA) regarding salary and benefits for the period July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2020. The University wishes to thank mediator William Kaplan for his role in assisting the parties in reaching a tentative agreement.

A small number of issues raised by the parties in the negotiation remain unresolved, and the University and UTFA have agreed to discuss these issues through facilitated discussions with William Kaplan, who remains seized as an arbitrator if necessary. These ongoing discussions will not delay the implementation of the agreement on salary and benefits following ratification.

The University will bring the tentative agreement forward for governance approval in the coming weeks. UTFA’s council will also be considering and voting on the tentative agreement. Details of the settlement will be shared once the ratification process is complete.
