As you may know, in a Letter of Intent in the most recent Collective Agreement between the University and CUPE 3902, Unit 3, the Vice-Provost, Faculty & Academic Life committed to the development of Provostial Guidelines to assist divisions in operationalizing criteria related to the advancement of Sessional Lecturers. The Provostial Guidelines were finalized following broad consultation with divisions and with CUPE. These Guidelines are now in effect for the next advancement round.

In accordance with the Collective Agreement, since the revised guidelines were not in place by September 1, 2015, any candidate who was denied advancement under the existing collective agreement language may re-apply for advancement on the basis of the Guidelines. Divisions may develop Divisional Guidelines consistent with the Provostial Guidelines. Copies of Divisional Guidelines should be forwarded to the Office of the Vice-President & ProvostĀ and to CUPE 3902, Unit 3.
