Re: Open Access Publishing Deal with SAGE Publishing

The University of Toronto (U of T) has signed on to participate in a three-year open access agreement with SAGE Publishing through the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN).

Through the agreement, which began January 1, 2021, U of T researchers may now publish their research as open access without having to pay for Article Processing Charges (APC) in more than 900 SAGE Choice journals (some exclusions apply). This agreement includes journals from the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) and Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

In addition, the agreement offers a 40% discount on APCs in SAGE’s gold open access journals. This agreement meets the requirements of the Tri-Agency Open Access Policy, and is part of ongoing work by the University of Toronto Libraries (UTL)  to support immediate and barrier-free access to research.

For more information explaining how this agreement works, visit UTL’s Publishing Discounts webpage.
