Re: Now Available – Advocacy Toolkit to Support Canada’s Fundamental Science Review Report Recommendations (PDAD&C #26)

I am pleased to announce the launch of an advocacy toolkit for University of Toronto faculty, staff, and students to join in our mounting efforts to encourage the federal government to implement the full set of recommendations of its Fundamental Science Review Report (also known as the Naylor Report).

Available at uoft.me/support-the-report, the toolkit asks members of the U of T community to take action and participate in the campaign to convince the federal government of the critical importance of supporting fundamental science.

Please join your colleagues by writing to your MP or inviting your MP to visit your lab or research endeavours, sending a postcard to Ottawa, and engaging on social media. The toolkit also provides quick facts about the Report, why it matters, and why the University of Toronto strongly endorses its recommendations.

Over the coming months, we will be looking for events on campus to discuss the importance of supporting fundamental research and to distribute these materials. If you have an upcoming event and would welcome delivery of these materials, please let my office know by email at gicr@utoronto.ca.
