Welcome to all new and returning Principals, Deans, Academic Directors, and Chairs. As you may be aware, all Academic Administrators who have been appointed under the Policy on Appointment of Academic Administrators are members of a standing committee called Principals, Deans, Academic Directors, and Chairs (PDAD&C). This includes Principals, Deans, Vice-Deans, Associate Deans, Academic Directors of EDU:A’s and B’s, and department Chairs.

For the 2021-22 academic year, PDAD&C meetings will occur on the following dates below, from 10:10am to 12:00pm. Currently, these meetings are scheduled as videoconferences. If larger in-person gatherings are permitted this fall, the meetings will take place in the Council Chamber in Simcoe Hall, with video-conferencing available and the location will be determined prior to the meetings. We will keep you updated on any changes in line with public health guidelines.

When these meetings are held by videoconference, agendas (and the meeting invite, if online) will be sent directly to members no sooner than the Tuesday of the week of the meeting. Administrative staff in need of the agenda must contact their PDAD&C member. Please note that Microsoft Teams may not work with all departmental email addresses, so we recommend that members use their individual U of T accounts to log into meetings.

Please note all PDAD&C members are encouraged to attend these meetings. Others will only be permitted if PDAD&C members request for permission to assign a designate to attend a particular meeting on their behalf by emailing provost@utoronto.ca at least two days prior to the meeting.

As PDAD&C members, you will automatically receive the Provost’s Digest each Friday, which is a weekly summary of all new memos posted on the Communications for Academic Administrators Website. Assistants to PDAD&C members, as well as other administrative staff, faculty, and librarians are welcome to request subscription by submitting the online form.

All content in the Provost’s Weekly Digest is public information and PDAD&C members play an important role in ensuring that this information reaches the relevant members of their respective units. We appreciate you working with us to improve communication and information sharing with faculty, staff, and students by keeping up to date on PDAD&C memos and sharing information with others.
