Re:  Extension of Professor Wendy Duff as Dean, Faculty of Information
(PDAD&C #98)

I am pleased to announce that the Agenda Committee of Academic Board has approved a six-month extension of Professor Wendy Duff as Dean of the Faculty of Information from July 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019, while the decanal advisory committee continues its work on the search for a new Dean.

Professor Wendy Duff was appointed as Dean of the Faculty of Information in 2016 (PDAD&C #78, 2015-16). During her tenure as Dean, she has made substantial progress and improvements to the Faculty’s operating budget, enrolment targets, program reviews, and space considerations. Professor Duff has also overseen the development of the Faculty’s one-of-kind Bachelor of Information (BI) program, which is set to launch later this year.

Professor Duff’s research focuses on archival users, access to archival material, digital curation, and the convergence of libraries, archives, and museums. Some of her recent work involved investigating the impact of archives on social justice, and promoting a culture of assessment in the archival domain through the creation of standardized evaluation tools and performance metrics.

Please join me in thanking Professor Duff for her willingness to take on this extension.
