Re: Deferral of Acting Vice-President and Provost Appointment

Given the demands facing the University at this time as a result of COVID-19, the Provost and I have agreed that it would be prudent to defer, until further notice, her six-month leave that had been scheduled to begin on April 1, 2020.   As previously announced, the Executive Committee had approved the appointment of Professor Trevor Young as Acting Vice-President and Provost.  With the deferral of Professor Regehr’s leave the Executive Committee has approved the deferral of Professor Young’s appointment as Acting Vice-President and Provost until further notice.

In light of the COVID-19 situation, Professor Young has also decided to return early from his current leave as Dean of Medicine and Vice-Provost, Relations with Health Care Institutions, which had previously been scheduled to end on December 30, 2020. To that end, the Agenda Committee of the Academic Board and the Executive Committee have approved, respectively, the revised terms of Professor Sal Spadafora as Acting Dean and Professor Lynn Wilson as Acting Vice-Provost to now end.  I would like to sincerely thank Professors Spadafora and Wilson for their service in these Acting roles.
