Re: [COVID-19] Updates to Response and Adaptation Unit

As we look forward to a return to a more active campus life this fall, the need to work collaboratively across our three campuses and among divisions remains vital as we navigate the steps to reopening.

We are extremely grateful that Professor Salvatore Spadafora has agreed to continue to provide leadership in this complex task, extending his time as the Special Advisor to the President on COVID-19 until the end of 2021.  In this role Sal will continue to lead the Response and Adaptation Unit, the small, dedicated team housed in the Provost’s Office, which will also continue its work through the fall.  Sal will remain as a trusted, expert voice, providing leadership and representing U of T at provincial and national tables dedicated to responding to the pandemic, including as the co-chair of the Council of Ontario University’s COVID-19 Reference Group.

The tri-campus Response and Adaptation Committee (RAC) also will continue its important work assisting all portfolios across the institution with COVID-related issues, projects, and other matters.

We thank all members of the RAC for their commitment, leadership and dedication over the past year and through the coming months.
