Re: COVID-19 Letter of Understanding between the University and UTFA Approved

Further to the announcement in last week’s Provost Digest that the University and UTFA had reached a tentative agreement on a COVID–19 specific Letter of Understanding (the “COVID LOU”), we are pleased to advise that the agreement has received unanimous approval from UTFA council. A link to the full text of the COVID LOU can be found here.

The Office of the Vice-Provost, Faculty & Academic Life will provide further information about the specific provisions in the COVID LOU over the next few weeks and months as appropriate.

As communicated last week, we have agreement to pay PTR for the 2020-2021 assessment period, which will allow for payment in the October 2021 pay run of PTR retroactive to July 1, 2021. Further instructions in this regard will be forthcoming.

Salary and benefits bargaining with UTFA for the period July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 is ongoing.
