Re: Call for Proposals for Coursera Specialization MOOCs

I am pleased to announce that the University of Toronto has been invited to submit proposals for a new set of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) supported by Coursera in the thematic areas listed below. For more information on the Coursera Specialization program or to initiate the Expression of Interest process, please contact Susan McCahan, Vice-Provost, Innovations in Undergraduate Education at vp.iue@utoronto.caExpressions of Interest must be submitted to this address by August 27, 2015.

Requests for Proposals are aimed at supporting the development of Specializations in the following thematic areas:

Business and Technology Specializations: A range of cohesive curriculum proposals that fall under the business and technology areas listed below. Specializations in these topic areas must be taught primarily in the English Language.

  • Business
  • SEO Marketing
  • Business and Financial Modeling
  • Human Resources Management
  • Startup Entrepreneurship
  • Sales Management
  • Technology
    • Data Structures and Algorithms
    • Basic Android Development
    • Computer Systems Fundamentals


Enrichment and Recreational Specializations:
A range of cohesive curriculum proposals that fall under the enrichment and recreational areas listed below. Specializations in these topic areas must be taught primarily in the English Language.

  • Introductory Psychology
  • Photography
  • Productivity and Problem Solving
  • English Language for Non Native Speakers


Other High Demand Specializations
: Beyond the topic-specific RFPs listed above, Coursera is open to proposals for Specializations in additional areas of high demand. For this category, we welcome proposals for Specializations taught in English, Spanish, Portuguese or Mandarin, and will also consider proposals in French and Russian.
