I am delighted to announce that the Agenda Committee of Academic Board has approved the appointment of Professor France Gagnon as Acting Dean, Dalla Lana School of Public Health, for a six-month period from July 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023 while the current Dean, Adalsteinn Brown, is on administrative leave.

Professor France Gagnon currently serves as the Associate Dean, Research (since 2017).

Professor Gagnon has a BScN and BA from University of Ottawa, MSc in Experimental Medicine from Université Laval, PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Université de Montréal, and postdoctoral fellowship in Genetic Epidemiology from University of Washington. She was an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa and joined the Dalla Lana School of Public Health as an Assistant Professor and Canada Research Chair in 2006.

Professor Gagnon’s expertise lies in the field of genetic and epigenetic epidemiology. Her research applies an interdisciplinary lens to impact population health, leading to a better understanding of human biology in a population-wide context.

Please join me in thanking Professor Gagnon for taking on this acting role at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health.
