On June 30, 2021, Professor Gretchen Kerr will be stepping down as Vice-Dean, Programs and Innovation in order to assume her new role as Dean, Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education. In accordance with Section 84 of the Policy on Appointment of Academic Administrators, Dean Barker has appointed a special committee to advise him on possible candidate for the retitled role of Vice-Dean, Research and Program Innovation.

Reporting to the Dean, School of Graduate Studies, and Vice-Provost, Graduate Research and Education, the Vice-Dean, Graduate Research and Program Innovation, is responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership and management of the graduate and postdoctoral research enterprise, and two key graduate education activities: program innovation and professional development. The Vice-Dean collaborates closely with University partners to advance inclusive excellence in graduate research and education across the institution.

The composition of the committee is as follows:

The Advisory Committee will begin meeting shortly and welcomes comments and nominations from interested persons.
