Inter-divisional teaching is a critical feature of the financial and academic landscape of undergraduate teaching at U of T. When our faculty members undertake inter-divisional teaching, our undergraduate students are able to engage with even more of our excellent researchers and with methods of thought and inquiry in disciplines other than their own.

The University of Toronto has adopted a new financial framework for inter-divisional teaching. The purpose of the new framework is to create an environment of simpler communication and financial stability, thereby allowing divisions to focus on the underlying academic priorities. The 2018-19 University Fund includes an allocation of $14.5 million to smooth the transition to the new financial framework for all divisions. This is the single largest investment in undergraduate teaching from the University Fund since the introduction of our budget model in 2006-07.
