Re: Additional One Month Extension – Period for Review of Unit Workload Policies

Academic units across the University are currently in the process of reviewing their Unit Workload Agreements. Chairs, Directors, and Deans have just participated in best practice workshops provided by the Office of the Vice-Provost, Faculty & Academic Life.

This is part of the periodic review process provided for by the University of Toronto Workload Policy and Procedures for Faculty and Librarians (WLPP) and formally initiated by PDAD&C #83, issued April 30, 2015, which extended the original deadline until November 1, 2015.

UTFA and University administration have recently reached agreement on a number of changes to the WLPP. In order to allow these changes to be reflected in Unit Workload Policies now undergoing revision, the parties have agreed that the three-year period for review of the Unit Workload Policies be extended a further month. Please find the revised WLPP online as agreed to by the parties and dated October 3, 2015.

The new timeline for review of Unit Workload Policies means that proposed revisions to Unit Workload Policies (as per 2.8 of the current WLPP) are now due December 1, 2015 with approval or rejection of Unit Workload Policies by the relevant Dean, Provost (or designate) due by December 15, 2015.
