Re: | December Exam Schedule |
This year, with Labour Day and the start of term falling so late, the December final exam period was compressed to 8 days (December 11 to 22). Using the current parameters, we have not been able to create a reasonable final exam schedule for the St. George campus. Therefore, in order to accommodate all fall term exams, we will have to encompass Friday night and Saturday morning and afternoon during the exam period.
While we acknowledge that this is a change from past practice on the St George Campus, the way the term has been laid out requires this; there are simply not enough days to effectively examine the more than 35,000 students on the St. George campus this term. Exploring other options (such as finding additional space or shifting ‘non-final exam’ events out of the exam period) unfortunately had little impact on the challenge.
The Registrars of the Faculties involved have been consulted and there was general agreement that given the circumstances, this is the best course of action.
Our focus is on creating a reasonable schedule that allows students an opportunity for success. We appreciate your understanding and support.
