Re: Task Force on Student Mental Health: Final Report and Administrative Response (PDAD&C #33)

The following email was sent to all students, faculty and staff on January 15, announcing the release of the Final Report of the Task Force on Mental Health and the Administrative Response.

Members of the University of Toronto community will recall that we established a Task Force on Student Mental Health as part of the four-point plan of action we announced in March 2019.

The Task Force has now completed its work. Its comprehensive and thoughtful recommendations are the product of a very thorough and extensive process of consultation with students and other members of the University community.

We have reviewed the Final Report of the Task Force carefully, and we accept all of its recommendations wholeheartedly. We invite you to read the Final Report and our Administrative Response to it.

We are grateful to the students and to all those who participated in the consultation process for sharing their experiences, concerns and ideas. We are also most grateful to the Task Force for their outstanding work in service to the U of T community.

Today the University launches into a new phase of action on student mental health. We look forward to our continued collaboration with all of you in addressing this vital issue.

Sincerely,

Meric S. Gertler, President
