Re: Implementation of Additional Salary Increases for Faculty & Librarians for the Period July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 Following Interest Arbitration Award (PDAD&C #11)
Further to the announcement made on September 8, 2023, I am pleased to provide details concerning the implementation of salary increases for faculty members and librarians awarded in an interest arbitration award by Arbitrator Eli Gedalof for the period July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.
Salary Increases
- The interest arbitration award provided for an across-the-board (ATB) increase of 7% retroactive to July 1, 2022. This amount is in addition to the 1% ATB increase that faculty members and librarians received July 1, 2022.
- The award also provided for an increase of 7% to the overload course stipend rate effective July 1, 2022, which is in addition to the 1% increase that had already been applied effective September 1, 2022.
- The University and UTFA had previously agreed to an additional payment of PTR retroactive to July 1, 2023, calculated as the difference owing following an increase to the breakpoints and increments by the awarded ATB amount (7%). This includes adjustments to 5% Merit Pool Awards.
Implementation:
The payment of the additional ATB increase retroactive to July 1, 2022 and additional payment of PTR retroactive to July 1, 2023 will be implemented for the November 2023 monthly pay run.
These updates will be made centrally, excluding those records with exceptions.
The adjusted breakpoints and increments have been updated and are available in the Salary Ranges table of the AAPM.
Revised salary letter templates will be available online in the upcoming weeks.
Instructions and details on the HRIS implementation of these increases will be circulated to Dean’s Offices/CAOs and Business Officers. The full instructions regarding HRIS processing will be made available via the AMS listserv following the October 2023 monthly pay run and will provide details for November monthly pay implementation.
Further details on the awarded changes related to workload, as outlined in the September 8, 2023 communication, will be communicated separately.
