Re: Feedback regarding the U of T Agreement with the Toronto School of Theology
The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the University of Toronto and the Toronto School of Theology (TST) will expire on June 30, 2022. As part of the review and renegotiation process, feedback from members of the U of T community is sought on the existing MOA and the University’s relationship with TST more broadly.
TST was created in 1969 as a consortium of seven theological schools. The University and TST first signed an MOA in 1978, and the agreement was subsequently regularly renewed, most recently in 2014. Under this MOA, the University and TST conjointly offer academic programs in theology.
The two institutions have established an MOA Review and Renewal Committee. The U of T members of the Committee are:
- Prof. Vina Goghari, Vice-Dean, Research and Program Innovation, School of Graduate Studies
- Prof. Antoinette Handley, Vice-Dean Graduate, Faculty of Arts and Science
- Prof. Susan McCahan, Vice-Provost, Academic Programs, and Vice-Provost, Innovations in Undergraduate Education, Office of the Vice-President and Provost
- Andrea Russell, Director, Academic Affairs, as secretariat to the Committee
The mandate of the Committee is to review the experience under the 2014 MOA, including through consultation with relevant stakeholders; to assess the degree to which its terms remain appropriate; and to make recommendations for any amendments to the 2014 MOA.
The U of T Committee members seek feedback from all members of the U of T community regarding the experience under the current MOA with TST, the degree to which its terms remain appropriate, and recommendations for any amendments to the existing MOA.
Feedback may be provided in confidence by March 15, 2022 to Andrea Russell, Director Academic Affairs, at andrea.russell@utoronto.ca
