Re: Extension of Professor Stephen Wright as Acting and Interim Dean, Faculty of Arts & Science (PDAD&C #35)

Further to PDAD&C #27, 2024-2025, the Agenda Committee of the Academic Board has approved an extension of Professor Stephen Wright’s term. He will serve as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Science until June 30, 2025, and then as Interim Dean from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026 (or until a new Dean is appointed, whichever is first).   

Professor Wright was initially appointed Acting Dean as of April 15, 2025. Through my consultation with leaders at the Faculty of Arts & Science and across the University, it became clear there is widespread support for his appointment in this role, and admiration for his strategic expertise and academic accomplishments.  

Please join me in thanking Professor Wright for continuing in this leadership role at the Faculty, during this exciting transition time for the University of Toronto.
