Governing Council Elections

Teaching Staff

An election will be held for four seats in following three constituencies:

  • Constituency IC – One Seat – All Teaching Staff who hold their major appointments in the Faculty of Arts and Science who hold their major appointments in the Departments of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Cell and Systems Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, Statistical Sciences, and the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics
  • Constituency IV – One Seat – All Teaching Staff members who hold who hold their major appointments hold their major appointments in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering
  • Constituency V – Two Seats – All Teaching Staff members who hold their major appointments in the Faculty of Medicine

An online election will be held between Monday, February 4 and Friday, February 15, 2019.

Administrative Staff

An election will be held for one seat between Monday, February 4 and Friday, February 15, 2019.

Voting instructions will be sent by email at a later date to teaching staff and administrative staff members eligible to vote in these elections. If required, ballots will be mailed by January 28, 2019 to those teaching staff and administrative staff for whom email addresses are not listed on HRIS or on the election database. All online votes must be cast and mail ballots returned by Friday, February 15, 2019. Eligible teaching staff and administrative staff should be directed to contact me if they are entitled to participate in the elections but do not receive a paper ballot in the mail.

Students

One of the eight student seats, for part-time undergraduate students has been filled by acclamation.

Nominations for the other part-time undergraduate student will re-open at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 24, 2019 and close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.

The election for seven remaining student seats will be held between Monday, February 4 and Friday, February 15, 2019.

Full-time undergraduate students registered in the Faculty of Arts and Science, University of Toronto Mississauga, University of Toronto Scarborough, and the Professional Faculties (excluding postgraduate medical trainees), and graduate students will be able to vote on U-elecT. Information will be sent to students by e-mail at a later date. Online votes must be cast by 5:00 p.m. on February 15, 2019.

Postgraduate medical trainees will be able to vote online between Monday, February 4 and Friday, February 15, 2019. Information about the online election will be sent by email.


Academic Board Elections

Nine Teaching Staff seats have been filled by acclamation. There will be an election required for five Teaching Staff representatives for the Faculty of Arts and Science. The election will be held between Monday, February 4 and Friday, February 15, 2019.

Voting instructions will be sent by email at a later date to teaching staff eligible to vote in these elections.

Nominations will re-open at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 23, 2019 and close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 for three Teaching Staff representatives from the Faculty of Medicine.
