Re: | Call for Nominations – Committee on Equity and Diversity in Research and Innovation (PDAD&C #23) |
Further to the recommendations of the Equity and Diversity in Research and Innovation Working Group, the Vice-President, Research and Innovation is establishing a standing Committee on Equity and Diversity in Research and Innovation. This Committee will advise on matters related to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) within the University of Toronto’s research and innovation enterprise.
The Office of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation is currently soliciting volunteers and/or nominations to this Committee. Members of the Committee will be appointed to initial three-year terms and will work closely with other portfolios, including the Offices of the Vice-President, Human Resources & Equity, and Vice-Provost, Faculty & Academic Life, to advance EDI across research and innovation programs and activities and to support the development of a more inclusive scholarly community.
The Office of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation seeks to establish a Committee that is diverse in its membership and offers multiple perspectives and insights. The Committee will include members who represent a breadth of disciplines across the University and its affiliated institutions. In addition, we especially welcome participation on the Committee by those who identify as racialized persons/persons of colour, women, Indigenous/Aboriginal Peoples of North America, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ+ persons, and others who may contribute to the further diversification of ideas. If you are nominating prospective members to this Committee, we ask that you consider nominees of diverse backgrounds. For further information, please see the Committee’s Terms of Reference.
We look forward to receiving nominations by Wednesday, October 31. Nominations and additional questions can be directed to:
