Re: Call for Nominations – Advisory Committee for the Director of the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy (PDAD&C #78)

On April 5, 2018, the Governing Council approved the amalgamation of the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs and School of Public Policy & Governance into the newly named Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, effective July 1, 2018. For more information, please see PDAD&C 77.

In accordance with Section 36 of the Policy on Appointment of Academic Administrators, we are writing to call for the nomination of individuals to serve on the Committee that will advise on the appointment of a Director.

Based on the Policy, the composition of the Advisory Committee will be as follows:

  • The Vice-President & Provost (Co-Chair);
  • The Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Science (Co-Chair);
  • Three to five members of the teaching staff of the School;
  • One to two students of the School, where appropriate;
  • Two to four other qualified individuals, at least two of whom shall be from outside the School, and;
  • A librarian, where appropriate.

Following a formal Request for Proposals and a rigorous selection process, we have engaged the consulting firm Perrett Laver to assist the Advisory Committee in conducting an international search for a new Director.

The Advisory Committee will begin meeting in the coming weeks. Nominations for the Advisory Committee should be submitted to the Provost’s Office by Friday, April 13 via online form. Questions about this search process should be directed to Assistant Provost Archana Sridhar at archana.sridhar@utoronto.ca.
