Re: | Announcing the Asbestos Review Panel (PDAD&C #57) |
The University of Toronto community responded with enthusiasm to our recent Call for Nominations – Asbestos Review Panel. The Panel’s mandate is to examine and evaluate the Asbestos Management Program on all three campuses, including its policies, program structure, protocols, processes, and procedures. The University is seeking recommendations with respect to our Program that consider best practices and whether the Program aligns with such practices, all in the context of regulatory compliance.
We are pleased to announce the Panel membership as follows:
Professor Jack Siemiatycki (Chair), Social and Preventive Medicine, École de santé publique de l’Université de Montréal
Professor Roland Hosein, Occupational & Environmental Health, Dalla Lana School of Public Health
Professor Andrea Sass-Kortsak, Occupational & Environmental Health, Dalla Lana School of Public Health
The Committee is supported by Elizabeth Cragg in the Office of the Vice-President, University Operations. Please direct any inquiries to:

The Panel is now meeting to develop its work plan. The Panel will hold meetings with key stakeholders in addition to welcoming submissions from the entire University community.
In closing, we are very grateful to the Panel’s members for agreeing to take up this important task. We are confident that they will carry out their mandate with a level of excellence typical of this institution.
