Re: Announcement of Trevor Rodgers as Executive Director, Planning & Budget (PDAD&C #114)

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Trevor Rodgers to the role of Executive Director, Planning & Budget effective June 30, 2017.

Trevor has worked in the Canadian higher education sector for 17 years, including 12 years in various roles in the Planning & Budget Office at the University of Toronto. He joined U of T in 2005 as a member of the original Budget Model Implementation Committee, and went on to manage the annual budget review processes for both academic and shared service divisions. Trevor has been instrumental in the evolution of the University’s budget model and planning processes, with a particular focus on the use of institutional data to inform planning discussions. He has consulted widely across the country on the subject of activity-based budgeting in higher education, and was a member of the winning U of T team for the 2012 IPAC/Deloitte Public Sector Leadership Award. Trevor holds BSc, MMSc, and MBA degrees, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA).

Trevor will assume leadership of the Planning & Budget Office following Sally Garner’s transition to the role of Senior Strategist, Operational Initiatives. As was shared in April, Sally will continue to work closely with Planning & Budget in this new role, providing additional capacity and expertise on budgetary issues.
