Re: Acting Vice-Provostial Appointments (PDAD&C #47)
As announced in PDAD&C #40 and #41, Professor Susan McCahan was recently reappointed as Vice-Provost, Academic Programs and Vice-Provost, Innovations in Undergraduate Education. And Professor Sandy Welsh was recently reappointed as Vice-Provost, Students. Each of them will be taking a six-month administrative leave during the 2020-2021 academic year.
As such, I invite nominations of individuals to be considered as Acting Vice-Provosts.
The Vice-Provost, Academic Programs holds responsibility for academic quality assurance and curricular innovation across the entire University. The Vice-Provost, Innovations in Undergraduate Education works closely with academic divisions across the three campuses to assess and improve undergraduate education. The same individual would be appointed as Acting Vice-Provost of both portfolios.
The Vice-Provost, Students works closely with Principals, Deans, academic divisions, and other offices across the three campuses to enhance the student experience at the University of Toronto. The portfolio is also responsible for University-wide policies and procedures affecting students, as well as relations with student societies and other campus groups.
Nominations for the roles of Acting Vice Provost, Academic Programs, Acting Vice-Provost, Innovations in Undergraduate Education, and Acting Vice-Provost, Students are welcome by email to Assistant Provost Archana Sridhar (archana.sridhar@utoronto.ca). Communications will be received in confidence.
