Re: | Advocacy Update on the Fundamental Science Review Report (PDAD&C #8) |
The University is asking the Government of Canada to focus on increasing funding for fundamental science in its upcoming budget. While Science Minister Kirsty Duncan’s recent short video response to addressing better coordination research funding mechanisms is welcome news, it does little to address the longstanding shortfall in funding identified in the Naylor Report. The University is working closely with Universities Canada, U15, and other research-intensive universities to drive adoption of the full set of recommendations. The full pre-budget submission is now available, and further details on the campaign to support the Fundamental Science Review Report will be released in the coming weeks.
