Re: | 2017 Tune Into Teaching Series |
Tune Into Teaching is a series of teaching-focused sessions for all instructors that is hosted by the Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation (CTSI) from August 30 to September 1, 2017. Deans, Chairs, and Directors are kindly asked to promote these teaching events to your faculty as all instructors and librarians are encouraged to attend.
The 3-day series of workshops is designed to provide instructors with techniques and strategies to maximize student engagement, support active and collaborative learning, create a welcoming and supportive classroom environment, and implement effective assessment practices and policies. Instructors will come away with specific strategies they can apply immediately in their own classes. This year’s workshops are:
Setting the Tone for Success: The First Day and Beyond
Grading: Myths and Realities
Creating More Equitable and Inclusive Classrooms: Considerations and Practices
Assignment Design
Getting Ready to Teach with Tech: Supporting Engagement and Collaboration with Educational Technologies
All sessions will be hosted at CTSI in the Blackburn Room on the fourth floor of Robarts Library, 130 St. George Street. The full program including workshop descriptions, facilitator details, and registration is available online.
