Update to Faculty and Librarian Salary Minimums Effective July 1, 2026 (PDAD&C #49)

Re: Update to Faculty and Librarian Salary Minimums Effective July 1, 2026 (PDAD&C #49)

The University Administration and UTFA have reached an agreement to amend salary minimums effective July 1, 2026. They raise the salary floors for tenure stream associate professors, assistant professors, and assistant professors (conditional); all teaching stream professorial ranks; and floors for Librarian I and II.

Faculty Salary Minimums

  • A new common salary floor of $110,000 plus July 1, 2026 across-the-board (ATB) increase will apply across all faculty member ranks.
  • These updates do not impact PTR breakpoints or the amount in the PTR funds per FTE.
  • The previously applied $620 supplement for teaching stream faculty hired on or after July 1, 2017 is now incorporated into the salary floors and will no longer be paid separately.

Librarian Salary Minimums

  • Updated salary floors will take effect July 1, 2026:
    • Librarian I: $86,200 + ATB
    • Librarian II: $90,200 + ATB
    • Librarian III: $110,940 + ATB
    • Librarian IV: $130,714 + ATB
  • These updates do not impact PTR breakpoints or the amount in fund per FTE.
  • As with teaching stream faculty hired on or after July 1, 2017, the $620 supplement paid to librarians hired on or after July 1, 2017 is now incorporated into the salary floors and will no longer be paid separately.

Special One-Time Base Salary Increase for Librarians I and II

  • A one-time base salary increase of $2,500 will be applied to all Librarians I and II employed as of July 1, 2026.
  • This increase will occur prior to ATB and PTR adjustments, with individuals receiving the greater of the fixed increase of $2500 or the increase caused by the increase to the salary floor.
