Re: Call for Nominations – Associate Vice-Provost, Faculty & Academic Life (PDAD&C#3)
I am pleased to invite nominations for the newly created academic leadership role of Associate Vice-Provost, Faculty & Academic Life (AVP, FAL). This role reflects the Provost’s commitment to supporting faculty members and librarians across their academic lifecycle, developing wellness supports and enhancing academic HR support across the Tri-campus. This three-year appointment will provide additional leadership for the University Administration’s relationship with the University of Toronto Faculty Association (UTFA).
The AVP, FAL, reporting to the Deputy Provost and Vice-Provost Faculty & Academic Life and working closely with staff in the Office of the Vice-Provost, Faculty & Academic Life, will:
- Enhance the University’s ability to attract, retain and support faculty members and librarians across the academic life cycle
- Support the resolution of complex faculty member and librarian employment matters, including grievances
- Co-lead bargaining and relationship building with UTFA
- Develop faculty member and librarian wellness supports
- Co-lead faculty member and librarian programming to support success across all stages of academic life
This role requires an academic leader with experience supporting academic life and academic HR issues.
