We invite nominations for a newly integrated leadership role: Associate Vice-President – Vice Provost, International Student Experience and Partnerships (AVP-VP, ISEP). This appointment reflects the University of Toronto’s continued commitment to advancing a coordinated and strategic approach to internationalization across student experience, global engagement, and partnerships, both academic and corporate. Engage and partner with Canadian and international government representatives, as appropriate, to move forward those partnerships. 

This five-year appointment will bring together the responsibilities previously held within the Associate Vice-President and Vice-Provost, International Student Experience and the Associate Vice-President, International Partnerships roles, creating a unified mandate to enhance the University’s global impact.

The AVP-VP, ISEP will report jointly to the Vice-President, International, and the Vice-President & Provost, and will play an integral leadership role in advancing the University’s international strategy.

The AVP-VP, ISEP will:

  • Advance global partnerships with academic institutions, industry and philanthropic partners, governments, to strengthen research collaboration and innovation
  • Lead the development and expansion of learning abroad and global engagement opportunities for all students through curricular and co-curricular initiatives
  • Oversee the tri-campus Centre for International Experience in collaboration with the Vice-Provost, Students
  • Provide academic and strategic leadership in fostering a positive and inclusive international student experience across all three campuses
  • Work collaboratively with divisions and the International Office’s executive team to develop and implement an integrated vision and strategy for international engagement and partnership development

This role requires a dynamic academic leader with a demonstrated record of collaboration, innovation, and commitment to internationalization in higher education. The successful candidate will bring experience in fostering global partnerships with academic partners and with industry, supporting international students, and advancing inclusive engagement opportunities.
