Tentative Agreements Reached – USW Local 1998 (Staff-Appointed) and CUPE 3261 Full-Time & Part-Time

The University has reached tentative agreements with USW Local 1998 (Staff-Appointed) and CUPE 3261 Full-Time & Part-Time. More information on the impact of these agreements will be shared with Principals & Deans once ratification of each agreement has taken place.

Call for Nominations — University of Toronto President’s Impact Awards (PDAD&C #7)

These awards celebrate and honour faculty members whose research has led to significant impact beyond academia, are now open for nominations. President’s Impact Award winners receive an award of $10,000 per year for five years to be used toward their research. The deadline to submit nominations is November 12. Please check with divisional awards offices for earlier internal deadlines.

Announcing the 2020 JJ Berry Smith Supervision Award Recipients

The School of Graduate Studies is pleased to announce Professor Douglas McDougall and University Professor Ted Sargent are this year’s recipients of the JJ Berry Smith Doctoral Supervision Award, which recognizes outstanding performance in the multiple roles associated with doctoral (PhD, EdD, DMA, SJD) supervision. The award recognizes active graduate faculty members who, over a minimum of a 15-year period, have demonstrated excellence in supervision at the University of Toronto. Two awards are offered annually: in the physical and life sciences, and in the humanities and social sciences.

Call for Applications Graduate and Undergraduate Award for Scholarly Achievement in the Area of Gender-Based Violence (PDAD&C #6)

This award was established in 2016 in recognition of the National Day of Remembrance & Action on Violence Against Women, held each year on December 6th. The two awards at $1,500 each are available annually – one for a graduate student and one for an undergraduate student. The Award is funded jointly by the Office of the Vice-President & Provost and the Office of the Vice-President, Human Resources & Equity. Applications are due on October 15.
