Following the appointment of the Provostial Advisor on Civil Discourse, this is a call for nominations for faculty and students to serve on the Working Group on Civil Discourse. This group will contribute advice, suggestions, and insights towards strengthening a culture of dialogue and discussion across different points of views in pursuit of truth and in service of shared understandings and the greater good. Nominations are due by February 23.

Applications are now open for the Global Classrooms Funding Initiative (GC). GCs are an approach to internationalize teaching and learning, from international guest speakers to courses co-taught with colleagues at institutions abroad. Applications close on March 8. Future calls for applications will run in summer and fall terms.

The President’s Advisory Committee on the Environment, Climate Change, and Sustainability 2023 Annual Report was presented at the December 18th Governing Council meeting by Co-Chairs John Robinson and Ron Saporta. The full report and web summary are now available on the President’s website.

The Vice-President, People Strategy, Equity & Culture has established a Wellness Review Committee. The Wellness Review Committee will consult widely with staff, faculty members, and librarians about existing wellness services and programming for employees across our three campuses and identify areas of improvement. Faculty members, librarians, and staff are encouraged to engage with the Committee’s work by completing the 2024 Pulse Survey and providing feedback.
